# Selecting a Captain

* Captains must be selected before deploying **TR00PS** on the grid.
* Captains can be any **TR00P** or any PFP from an approved community listed on the Rare Sat inscription here: <https://www.ord.io/89290897>
* **TR00PS** that are chosen as Captains participate in the **GRID WARS** as normal **TR00PS**. They are eligible to earn traits, can die, and can ascend to Pink Eyes.
* External Captains do NOT get an extra grid position, do NOT get Rekard strength, do NOT die, and do NOT earn traits.
* Captains can only be changed every Battle, before the grid selections are made
